What we do with your data
Effective: May 17, 2026
Short version: PureBit doesn't track what you listen to, doesn't profile you, and doesn't send your library anywhere. Read on for the boring details.
What we collect
Nothing. PureBit ships without analytics, crash reporters, attribution SDKs, or telemetry of any kind. We do not run a server that receives data about you, your library, or your listening habits.
What stays on your device
- Your imported music files and any metadata extracted from them.
- Your EQ presets, Audio Lab settings, theme choices, and other preferences.
- OAuth tokens for cloud sources you connect (Google Drive, OneDrive). Stored in the iOS Keychain. Never transmitted to us.
- Cached AutoEq target curves you fetch, plus offline downloads you create.
All of this lives in the app's local sandbox on your iPhone or iPad. Deleting the app removes all of it.
Third parties PureBit talks to
The app makes network requests directly from your device to these services. We are not in the middle of those connections.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit. Handles your purchase of PureBit Pro and any transaction validation. We never see your billing information. Apple's privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.
- Google Drive (optional). If you connect a Google Drive account, the app authenticates with Google and streams or downloads the audio files you select. Connection is yours to revoke at any time in your Google account settings.
- Microsoft OneDrive (optional). Same model as Google Drive. Revocable from your Microsoft account.
- AutoEq community data. When you search for a headphone target curve, the app downloads the relevant file from the public AutoEq repository on GitHub (github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq). No account, no identifying request.
Google API Services — Limited Use
PureBit's use of information received from Google APIs (including data obtained
via the drive.readonly scope) adheres to the
Google API Services User Data Policy,
including its Limited Use requirements.
- The
drive.readonlyscope is used only to let you browse and read your own audio files so PureBit can build your music library and play them. PureBit is read-only and never creates, modifies, deletes, or shares your Drive files. - All access happens on your device. PureBit has no backend server; your Google data is never sent to us. The OAuth token is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the in-app playback feature you requested.
- We do not allow humans to read your Google data except where required for security, to comply with applicable law, or with your explicit consent.
- You can revoke PureBit's access at any time in your Google account settings.
What we never do
- We don't sell, trade, or share data, because we don't have any.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't run third-party analytics or attribution.
- We don't ask for an account or email to use the app.
Children
PureBit is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content, but the app does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If we ever start collecting data, this page will be updated and the Effective date above will change. Material changes will also be surfaced inside the app on the next launch.
